The safari also includes chimp trekking in Kibale National Park, popularly known as the world’s monkey capital, which is home to chimps and 12 other primate species. One of the safari’s main attractions is the unique mountain gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, where you will walk through the forest to encounter these rare and endangered primates in their native environment.

The safari continues with a visit to Lake Mburo National area, where you will participate in a guided walking safari, which provides a unique opportunity to explore the area on foot and observe animals up close.

  • Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to the availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.
  • Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits cannot be held with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment and Rwanda Development Board – they are only secured once physically paid for.
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking which is strictly 15 years and 12 years for Chimpanzee tracking.
  • The RATES are subject to change with effect from July upon release of the new tariffs from UWA.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight and a short safari briefing in preparation for your upcoming adventure in Uganda.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking experience where you will have the opportunity to see white rhinos on foot. After the rhino trek, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, home to the world’s most powerful waterfall.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive, Boat Cruise and Top of the Falls

Start the day with an early morning game drive where you may see elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species. Later, visit the Top of Murchison Falls for a spectacular view of the Nile as it forces its way through a narrow gorge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the falls, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of East Africa. The journey takes you through beautiful countryside and tea plantations, with a stop for lunch in Fort Portal before continuing to Kibale.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by a ranger guide, you will walk through the forest in search of chimpanzees and observe them in their natural habitat. After the trek, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Begin the day with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and antelopes. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting the gorilla trekking experience. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one hour observing and photographing them in their natural habitat.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
