Upon arrival, you will explore the beautiful surroundings of Bwindi and visit a local community to learn about the culture and daily life of the people living near the forest.

The highlight of this safari is the gorilla trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, you will trek through the forest in search of a mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat, watching how they interact and care for their young.

  • Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to the availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.
  • Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits cannot be held with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment and Rwanda Development Board – they are only secured once physically paid for.
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking which is strictly 15 years and 12 years for Chimpanzee tracking.
  • The RATES are subject to change with effect from July upon release of the new tariffs from UWA.

Itinerary for 4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour

Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver-guide who will transfer you to your hotel for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s activities.
Activity: Transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2 – Flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, arriving at Kihihi Airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to Bwindi through local villages and beautiful countryside landscapes.
After lunch, you will visit the Ride 4 a Woman community project, where local women work together to create arts and crafts. This visit offers a great opportunity to learn about the local culture and community initiatives.
Activities: Flight transfer to Bwindi and Ride 4 a Woman community visit.

Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Wake up early for the highlight of your safari—mountain gorilla trekking. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing and then assigned a gorilla family to track. With packed lunch, you will trek through the forest with experienced rangers in search of the gorillas.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing them in their natural habitat—an unforgettable wildlife experience.
After the trek, return to the briefing area where you will receive a certificate of participation. Later in the afternoon, visit the Batwa community where you will be welcomed with traditional dance and learn about their culture and traditional way of life.
Activities: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community visit.

Day 4 – Departure – Flight from Bwindi to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
Activity: Transfer to the airstrip and flight back to Entebbe.
