Kilimanjaro National Park
Kilimanjaro National Park is a national park 128 kilometers from Arusha, situated in Moshi. It is on Mount Kilimanjaro. Established as Africa’s roof which occupies an area of 753 km2. With snow and glaciers that are the standout and less than five kilometers high, you can see more than 140 kilometers on a clear day, situated only three degrees below the equator.
The tropical rainforest covers Kilimanjaro National Park. There are many hiking trails through the woods, including the famous six fixed routes that all lead to the Kilimanjaro summit.
The ever-changing flora and fauna known as vegetation zoning, a term used to refer to the idea that such plants only grow to a certain degree, would surprise visitors who come to climb Kilimanjaro, leading to numerous strips by changing the height of the trees, shrubs and flowering plants. There are live species within this environment that have evolved to distinct heights.
Best Time to visit Kilimanjaro National Park
Dry Season (June to October): June through October is the ideal time of year to explore Kilimanjaro National Park. The weather is perfect for climbing since it is more steady, there is less rain, and the sky are clearer. The ideal time of year to trek and hike is during the dry season, especially for those who are trying to reach the top. This is also the best time to see wildlife.
Rainy Season (March to May): The area has greater rainfall during this time, which makes trekking more difficult and muddy. It is not the greatest time to try a summit because the paths can be slick and challenging to manage. On the other hand, the rain provides the mountain’s lower slopes with luxuriant flora and a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
Shoulder Season (November to December): With fewer people and comfortable temperatures, November and December, which are right before the major rainy season, provide ideal trekking conditions. For those who want to escape the crowds at the busiest time of year while still enjoying ideal hiking conditions, these months provide a wonderful substitute.
