Maasai Village Visit

Experience how the Maasai Live

Many individuals have grown up viewing documentaries about the African wilderness on channels such as National Geographic or Discovery. Whenever the cameras capture the landscapes of East Africa, a particular warrior tribe adorned in vibrant reds and blues frequently appears on screen—the Maasai.

These semi-nomadic pastoralists inhabit the rift valley region of Northern Tanzania and Southern Kenya. You will see the vibrant Maasai caring for their cattle or trying to sell their products as you make your way into the region’s national parks on your safari.

Did you know you can visit their village and learn about their unique culture, customs, and traditions? If this piques your interest, continue reading this article to learn more about what to expect from a Maasai village tour and determine if you would like to include it in your travel plans.

Cost and Duration

A visit to the Maasai village typically lasts between one and one and a half hours, during which it is customary to provide a tip of $15 (per visitor) to the village head. We, at Monkey Adventures, will not collect this amount; instead, we kindly request that you give it directly to the village head.

If you prefer to extend your stay at the village, arrangements can be made. For longer visits, please consult your sales representative.
